Knight, Sullivan & Associates – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a D-U-N-S® Number?

A D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) that verifies a business’s identity and helps lenders, vendors, and government agencies evaluate its credibility. It’s required for many business funding, contracting, and credit opportunities.

2. Why do I need a D-U-N-S Number?

A D-U-N-S Number is often required when applying for government contracts, grants, or vendor programs. It can also help your business build credibility, open lines of credit, and appear in D&B’s global database, which many corporations use to verify legitimate businesses.

3. How long does it take to get my D-U-N-S Number?

  • Standard Processing: Typically takes 7 – 30 business days.

  • Expedited Processing: Usually completed in about 8 business days, but this depends on D&B’s workload and is not guaranteed.

4. What services do you provide in each package?

  • Basic ($99): We guide you step-by-step through the application process.

  • Standard ($199): We complete and submit your application on your behalf.

  • Premium ($528 = $299 KSA service + $229 D&B expedited fee): We handle everything and include D&B’s expedited option for the fastest turnaround.

5. Can Knight, Sullivan & Associates submit my application for me?

Yes. Once you sign our Client Service Agreement and Authorization, we act as your authorized agent to prepare, submit, and communicate with Dun & Bradstreet on your behalf. Please understand that the services we're providing you can perform yourself but that doesn’t mean it’s simple, quick, or error-free. Most business owners prefer to have professionals handle it for them to save time, avoid mistakes, and get results faster.

6. How do I pay for the service?

We accept credit/debit cards, Zelle, Cash App, Square, Stripe, PayPal, and approved third-party pay-over-time options at checkout. Payment is due in full before services begin.

7. Are there any taxes on your services?

No. Our D-U-N-S registration services are not subject to sales tax.

8. What is your refund policy?

  • Full refund: If requested within 24 hours and work has not started.

  • 50 % refund: If within 48 hours and the application has not been submitted.

  • No refund: Once business data has been submitted or if incorrect information you provide causes denial.

9. Can you fix mistakes on my D-U-N-S Number later?

Yes, we can help correct errors or update existing records by contacting D&B on your behalf, as long as you provide the updated information and authorization.

10. What if I already have a D-U-N-S Number?

We’ll check the D&B database before applying. If your business already has a number, we can assist in merging duplicates or updating the record.

11. How will I know when my application is complete?

We keep you informed by phone or email at each step of the process. You’ll receive confirmation once your D-U-N-S Number is assigned.

12. Is my business information secure?

Yes. We use secure channels to collect and transmit your data. Information is shared only with Dun & Bradstreet for application purposes and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. How do I sign the documents?

You can sign electronically. Each form includes both a typed name and drawn signature option, along with the date, time, and your IP address for record verification.
